The accident happened on Thursday afternoon on the southbound side of Interstate 5. A semi-truck driven by a 56 year old man had just passed through the California Department of Food and Agriculture inspection station in Hornbrook. The driver reportedly may have suffered a medical emergency before swerving off the freeway and going about 100 feet down a ditch off the freeway.
