YPSILANTI, MICHIGAN (May 29, 2017) – A 15 year old girl was killed when the vehicle she was riding in crashed into the back of a firetruck on Interstate 94 on Monday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11:15 on the westbound side of Interstate 94, near Grove Street. A fire truck was parked on the highway, responding to a rollover crash that had happened previously, when a Ford SUV being driven by 34 year old Charles Horn slammed into the rear of the fire truck.
A 15 year old girl in the rear seat of the vehicle was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The other two occupants of the vehicle, 34 year old Charles Horn and his 15 year old daughter were both rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
