WOODLAND HILLS: Bicycle Hit-and-Run Fatality on Winnetka Avenue

“One Cyclist Killed Another Injury in Hit-and-Run Crash”

WOODLAND HILLS, CALIFORNIA (MAY 26, 2017) – Two cyclist were involved in a hit-and-run collision on Winnetka Avenue early Wednesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. (map)

The accident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. Two restaurant workers were cycling north on Winnetka when the pickup truck hit both cyclists. The two injured workers were taken to the hospital where one of them died from fatal injuries and the other was temporarily unconscious and was treated for unspecified injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle is a 1990’s model white Ford or Chevrolet pickup. The driver of the pickup truck has been described by witnesses as a male in his late 30’s /early 40’s with a close cropped haircut and facial hair, according to LAPD Detective John Doerbecker.
