WOODLAND, CALIFORNIA (January 15, 2017) – According to the Woodland Police Department, three people were hospitalized on Saturday after a three-car DUI collision on West Street and Kentucky Avenue. (map)
WPD Sergeant Brett Hancock reported that a blue Ford Mustang, driven by 26-year-old Eduardo Mare Jr., was traveling southbound on West Street around 1:20 a.m. when he collided with a Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 50-year-old Mario Guerrero, that was traveling westbound. Guerrero lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked Chevrolet Suburban. Eduardo and his passenger, 25-year-old Diana Mares, were trapped in their vehicle and were extricated by firefighters.
Sergeant Hancock states that all three involved were transported to UC Davis Medical Center with minor to major injuries. Guerrero is being investigated for driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to stop at a red light.
“It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. DUI drivers continue to endanger the safety of everyone,” said a California car accident and wrongful death attorney.
