A male pedestrian died after a car crash on Castle Street and 6th Street in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA (March 1, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed in a collision on Wednesday evening at the intersection of Castle Street and 6th Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 600 block of Castle Street, near 6th Street. A man identified only as a 63 year old reportedly stepped out into traffic and was struck by a pickup truck.

The pedestrian was rushed to New Hanover County Regional Center, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The accident remains under investigation.
