“Construction Site Injury”
WILLINGTON, CONNECTICUT (AUGUST 21, 2017) – A worker was injured in a construction accident in Willington on Monday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened at around 2 p.m. in the area of the Willimantic River Bridge construction site. The collapse of a jack occurred on the Tolland Turnpike (also referred to as Route 74).
The Willington Hill and Tolland Fire Departments responded to the scene and succeeded in extricating one of the workers from the site. The extent of the worker’s injuries have not been released. The accident is currently being investigated.
