“Investigation Ongoing”

POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA (October 15, 2017) – William Richard was tragically identified as one of the two men that were killed in an accident on Sunday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Sunday morning around 9:25 am in the 1400 block of West Atlantic Boulevard. William Richards was driving east across the train tracks in a white Hyundai when his vehicle was struck by a northbound Tri-Rail train.

91 year old William Richards and his 79 year old passenger Richard Leftingwell were both tragically killed in the accident. The crash remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time. Initial reports indicate that the crossing is equipped with lights and gate arms, but it is unclear if they were functioning at the time of Sunday’s accident. Initial reports also indicate that William Richard’s vehicle may have been stuck on the tracks prior to the accident.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.” The attorneys from Lexton Law have knowledge of assisting with train related cases.
