The accident happened around 2:40 am on Work Street near John Street. 38 year old William Henry Crabbe was walking with Alyssa Castro, a 27 year old female, on the sidewalk on Work Street. A Ford Bronco driven by a 24 year old man veered off the road and up onto the sidewalk, striking both William and Alyssa.

William Crabbe was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Alyssa Castro was rushed to a hospital in good condition. The driver immediately fled the scene, but authorities tracked him to his home on Acacia Street and arrested 24 year old Jaime Garcia. He was confirmed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, and was already on probation. He is facing hit and run, driving with a suspended license, and murder charges.
