SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (April 12, 2018) – Will Ferrell, 50-years-old, was traveling down Interstate 5 Freeway in a chauffeur-driven SUV, when suddenly struck from the side by another vehicle.
Ferrell was heading back to Los Angeles after hosting “Funny or Die” voter registration event in San Diego, while playing his character Ron Burgandy from “Anchorman.” A vehicle, identified as a 2007 Toyotam, struck the tail of the SUV that was transporting Farrell that night, causing it to collide with the center divider and then roll over. The deadly incident took place in the Aliso Viejo area of California.
Ferrell was transported to the hospital to take care of the injuries he sustained, and was released later that day. Ferrell’s longtime chauffeur, Mark Thompson, and another colleague, Carolina Barlow, remain hospitalized in stable condition. Andrew Steele, another one of Ferrell’s colleagues and passenger in the vehicle suffered critical injuries and is still being treated.
