HALLSVILLE, TEXAS (August 5, 2017) – Two teenagers were killed in a tragic boating accident on Saturday on Lake O’ the Pines, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened when three teenagers, identified as 17 year old Will Brannon, 16 year old Heath Faucheux, and 11 year old Thomas Larry, were on a catamaran on Lake O’ the Pines on Saturday at around 1 pm. The two older boys were teachin Thomas Larry how to sail, when the topsail struck a power line that was hanging over the lake for an unknown reason. All three boys were electrocuted as a result.
Will Brannon and Heath Faucheux were both tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas Larry was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and his current condition is unknown. The accident remains under extensive investigation to determine cause and liability. Initial reports indicate one of the boys was found in the water, and another was on board the boat, and both were wearing flotation devices.
