WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA (January 30, 2017) – A bicyclist was struck and killed on Monday morning in the 9100 block of Calmada Avenue, according to local news sources. (map)

The accident happened around 7:30 am. A bicyclist was struck by a driver in the 9100 block of Calmada Avenue. The driver, believed to be a female, dragged the victim almost 800 feet across two residential blocks before fleeing the scene in a pearl colored newer model Lexus.

The pedestrian tragically was killed in the accident and was pronounced dead by responding medical personnel. Authorities are on the hunt for the hit and run driver at this time, and to determine cause and liability in this tragic accident.
