“Power Outage Crash”
WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA (June 7, 2017) – Two vehicles were involved in a crash on Beach Boulevard north of McFadden Avenue Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. The two car collision caused one vehicle to strike a utility pole. The crash knock down the pole causing the live power lines to rest on the street, according to Officer John Latosquin with the CHP Traffic Management Center.
The identities of the persons involved in the collision have not been released. It is unknown if there were any injuries to the victims of the collision. Southern California Edison were dispatched to the scene in order to repair the live lines that were spewed on the street. 52 customers were without power. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
