WESTMINSTER, CALIFORNIA (February 20, 2017) – At least one person was killed in an accident on 22 Freeway near Knott Avenue on Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 4:52 a.m. on the westbound side of the 22 Freeway, near Knott Avenue. Two vehicles, one of which was tentatively identified as a black sports car, were reportedly racing on the freeway when they were involved in a crash that shut down the entire westbound side of the freeway.
At least one person, identified as Laritza Escobar, was killed in the collision and the condition of others involved is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
