The accident happened around 9:00 am on the southbound side of the 405 Freeway near Edwards Street. A Volkswagen Jetta swerved and collided with a Caltrans truck parked on the shoulder, then spun out and struck a second Caltrans truck before hitting a Caltrans worker who was using a weed whacker to trim ice plants on the side of the road.
The Caltrans worker, identified only as a male in his 30s, was reportedly in stable condition after being hit and was rushed to Huntington Beach Hospital. The accident remains under investigation as authorities determine cause and liability.
“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said a California car accident and personal injury lawyer.
