WEST MONROE: Three Seriously Injured in Train Accident on Cheeks Road

WEST MONROE, LOUISIANA (June 26, 2017) – Five people were involved in an accident with a train on Cheeks Road on Monday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 5:00 pm in front of the Cheniere Baptist Church in West Ouachita Parish. A white Ford 150 pickup g truck carrying five people was struck by a train off Cheeks Road for an unknown reason.

Three of the five occupants of the car sustained serious injuries. The occupants were described as one adult and four children. Initial investigation indicate the crossing is not equipped with crossing arms or warning lights, just signs to indicate the crossing. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
