Wendi Thomas Killed in Train Accident on Bayou Ave and Highway 43

SATSUMA, ALABAMA (December 5, 2017) – 22 year old Wendi Nicole Thomas was tragically confirmed to be the victim killed in a train accident on Baker Road and Highway 43 on Tuesday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Tuesday morning, at the train crossing on Bayou Avenue near Old Highway 43. A freight train struck Wendi’s vehicle for an unknown reason.

Wendi Nicole Thomas was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. Wendi was about to celebrate her 23rd birthday, and was a nationally awarded archer. The investigation is still ongoing at this time, but initial investigations have indicated that there are no crossing arms at this intersection, only warning lights.
