The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. Campbell was leaving the parking lot of the American Legion post making a left turn onto Grand Avenue in a 2006 Mercedes-Benz. The rider of a 2005 Triumph, later identified as William Bradehoft, was travelling southbound on Grand Avenue at a high rate of speed and collided into the driver side door of the Mercedes-Benz, according to CHP.

The impact caused both the motorcycle and vehicle to catch fire. The Mercedes traveled a short distance and collided with a fence across the street from the post.

Campbell and Bradehfort were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. An investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends of Mr. Wayne Campbell, who has been affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
