WASHINGTON D.C. (February 28, 2017) – A man was killed after being trapped in a trench collapse on Tuesday morning on Dexter Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. at a new home construction site in the 4600 block of Dexter Street. A worker was trapped when a 20 foot deep trench collapsed on him.

Despite extensive rescue efforts, the construction worker was tragically killed in the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
