The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Vista Village Drive near Camino Corto. A male pedestrian in his 30’s was struck by a red Toyota Prius that had been traveling at a high rate of speed.
The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. The pedestrian’s current condition and identity are not known at this time. The driver of the Prius remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
