Victim Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries
VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA (December 9, 2016) – A major traffic collision involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV forced authorities to close down a portion of Highway 395 on Friday. (map)
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on US-395 between Bear Valley Road and Dos Palmas.
A preliminary investigation revealed the SUV was traveling northbound, for unknown reasons, lost control and slid into the front of the semi.
The female driver of the silver Toyota Sequoia had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was reportedly the only person inside the SUV. The driver of the big rig was unharmed.
The injured driver was transferred to Desert Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
