The accident happened around 1:00 pm on Friday, at the intersection of Village Drive and Eto Camino Road. An 11 year old boy was crossing Village Drive near Eto Camino when he was struck by a Honda Accord traveling northbound.

The child sustained major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Raul Martinez, the driver of the Honda Accord, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
