VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA (February 4, 2017) – A tragic DUI accident took place early Saturday morning, at approximately 1:45 a.m., on Amethyst Road and Mojave Drive. (map)
A 2015 Honda Accord driven by 35-year-old Angel Barranco was t-boned by a DUI driver in a 2002 Hyundai, who failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The collision killed Barranco and injured his 7 months pregnant wife, 25-year-old Barbara Velasco and her mother, 42-year-old Monica Alarcon. Both Velasco and Alarcon were hospitalized, sadly, Velasco lost their unborn child due to the collision.
The DUI driver has been identified as 56-year-old Alexander Delapaz-Perez. Delapaz-Perez was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI of alcohol.
