Witnesses near Highway 101 in Ventura described seeing what looked like a mid-air collision in Ventura just before noon. By 2 pm, searchers had located a debris field near Emma Wood State Beach.
At least one person was confirmed to have been killed in the crash. Authorities are still attempting to search for a potential second debris field at this time, but reports have not been confirmed that this was a midair collision. The accident remains under open investigation.
