VENTURA: Fatal Accident on State Route 33 near Main Street

VENTURA, CALIFORNIA (April 7, 2017) – At least one person was killed in a collision off State Route 33 on Friday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)

The accident happened around 7:57 am on the southbound side of State Route 33, just north of Highway 101. An unidentified vehicle flew off State Route 33 and damaged a perimeter fence in the process. The report also indicated that a second vehicle may have been involved.

At least one person was pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The incident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
