“Mother and Daughter Killed”
VALLEY HEAD, ALABAMA (March 21, 2017) – Julia Yates Patterson and her daughter, Elizabeth Patterson, were killed less than an hour apart in separate accidents on Highway 117, according to a local news source. (map)
The first accident occurred around 3:00 pm on Alabama Highway 117, near Lyons Road. 39 year old Julia Yates Patterson was driving on Highway 117 to go pick up her daughter from school when she collided head on with a pickup truck for an unknown reason. 30 minutes later, Julia’s daughter 8 year old Elizabeth “Libby” Patterson was crossing the same highway when she was struck by a car.
Julia Patterson and Elizabeth Patterson were both pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accidents. Both incidents remain under active investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
