“Boating Accident Claims Life”
LAKE HAVASU, CALIFORNIA (August 10, 2017) – 59-year-old Henry Rea was involved in a two boat collision between Havasu Landing and Windsor State Park, Sunday evening, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner’s press release. (map)
The crash was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. A 25-foot Carrera deck boat with six occupants was traveling east from Havasu Landing Marina heading toward Windsor Beach State Park when a 28-foot Eliminator, traveling north without lights carrying three passengers, and the 25-foot Carrera deck boat collided, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Cpl. Jeffrey Cross.
Three people from each boat were ejected into the water. The Eliminator sank shortly after. An occupant from the Carrera successfully got all six people onto the boat and continue to Winsdor State Beach.
Rea was pronounced dead at the scene. Four people were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center. One of the victims was then transported to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision. However, the reports does not clarify which person was drinking.
