The crash occurred approximately after 12:00 p.m., when a Volvo sedan, driven by Lynnell, collided with an Acura. The impact of the collision subsequently caused the vehicles to also collide with a Toyota pickup truck.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as Sargis Mirza, found the young children unresponsive in their child safety seats. Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene and the two young girls were airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition. Genevieve sustained a permanent spinal cord injury along with other medical conditions stemming from the accident. Shawnta Lynnell was transported to a local hospital approximately 165 miles away from her two young girls. The severity of Lynnell’s injuries are unknown.
