The accident happened around 2:00 pm on September 11th. 47 year old Spokane, WA native Travis Bonnett and his 55 year old brother in law Harvey Douglass were riding in a Toyota Land Cruiser on a guided tour of ghost towns and mines. As the Land Cruiser crested the top of the mountain, the road reportedly gave way, sending the vehicle tumbling down a ravine. Both men were ejected during the crash, despite the fact that both were allegedly wearing their seatbelts.
Travis Bonnett was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His brother in law Harvey Douglass, a well known developer in the Spokane area, was airlifted from the scene with a broken leg and lacerated spleen. Douglass is now recovering at home, and the investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
