TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA (March 2, 2017) – A female bicyclist was tragically killed on Thursday after she was struck by a delivery truck on Van Ness Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 11:30 am in the 19600 block of Van Ness Avenue. A female bicyclist, identified only as a 72 year old, was riding her bicycle south on Van Ness when a 1998 International Delivery truck pulled out of a driveway and struck her.

The bicyclist was rushed to a hospital, where she was tragically declared dead as a result of her injuries. The truck driver did not report sustaining any injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
