The accident happened around 7:00 am in the 5100 block of Santo Road, near Porto Court. A pedestrian identified only as a teenager was crossing the street on their way to school when they were struck by an unidentified vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered injuries and was rushed to a hospital. The motorist that struck the teenager, identified only as a female driver, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
