THOUSAND OAKS, CALIFORNIA (February 21, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday morning in a hit and run accident on the 101 Freeway near Rancho Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:00 am on the northbound side of the 101 Freeway, near the exit for Rancho Road. A male pedestrian, identified as Hispanic and being in his 60s, was found in the road with fatal injuries.
Responding medical personnel tragically pronounced the victim dead at the scene as a result of their injuries. He has been identified as 68 year old Rogelio Razo Paredes. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was not at the scene, and authorities are on the lookout for the hit and run driver that is believed to have been operating a Toyota Camry. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability, and anyone with information should contact the California Highway Patrol.
