Justin Stalberg Crashes Vehicle into House at 2600 Block of Briarwood Place, Killing Igor Lirtsman, 74

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Igor Lirtsman, 74, was killed after a 19-year-old man drove his vehicle into Lirtsman’s home at the block of 2600 Briarwood Place. The DUI crash occurred at around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Lirtsman had been visiting with family members from the East Coast at the back of the house when the unthinkable occurred.  According to a police report, Justin Stalberg, 19, of Camarillo drove through some bushes before careening off of a 40-foot embankment and plowing into the back of the cul-de-sac residence at 2600 Briarwood.

Lirtsman was killed upon impact and when emergency crews arrived to the home he was declared dead at the scene. The other people inside the home were uninjured.  Stalberg, 19, was booked into the Ventura County jail for suspicion of DUI, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and causing injury while driving under the influence.

The crash is under intense investigation and there were several eye-witnesses.

“It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. Drunk drivers continue to endanger the safety of all other drivers,” said a California car accident and personal injury attorney.
