“Investigation Ongoing”

MAUMEE, OHIO (August 9, 2017) – An Andersons employee identified as Thomas Robinson was killed in an accident at a train facility in Maumee on Wednesday, according to a local news source. (map)

Thomas Robinson, a 29 year old man from Perrysburg, was working at the Maumee railcar repair facility off Illinois Avenue on Wednesday. He was assisting to unload cement powder bags, when an accident of unknown origin occurred.

Thomas Robinson was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Details are still emerging in this tragic accident, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is on site to investigate the accident.

This is not the first fatal accident for Andersons in the area. In 2006, a man was killed at Anderson’s grain facility, which is located less than a block away from the rail yard.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
