TACOMA: Three Year Old Hospitalized after Being Hit by Semi Truck on Steele Street

“Investigation Ongoing”

TACOMA, WASHINGTON (April 26, 2017) – A three year old girl remains in the hospital after she was hit by a semi-truck on Steele Street on Wednesday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 1:45 pm in the 9500 block of Steele Street. A woman was pushing a stroller with a 5 month old infant inside and was also accompanied by her three year old daughter. A semi-truck was preparing to pull out of a parking lot and did not see the mother and her children, and struck the three year old and the infant in the stroller.

The three year old little girl was rushed to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. The infant was hospitalized as well, but did not appear to have sustained major injuries in the accident. The driver of the semi truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities in their ongoing investigation.
