
“No arrests made”
SUTTER, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was killed and 59-year-old Jasbir Singh Basra was injured on Monday in a head-on collision on Highway 20, just west of Southridge Boulevard. (map)
The CHP reported that Basra was traveling westbound in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and attempted to pass traffic by crossing a double-yellow line into the eastbound lane. Basra crashed into a 1994 Jeep Cherokee head on around 4:35 a.m.
The CHP states that the driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene while Basra was transported to Rideout Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The woman’s identity has been withheld pending notification from relatives.
