
Fatal Head-On Crash on Hwy. 20 Under Investigation
SUTTER, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – A woman died in a fiery head-on car accident on Highway 20 near Southridge Boulevard early Monday morning, reported the Sacramento Bee. (map)
The collision occurred at about 4:35 a.m. on the Colusa Highway (Hw. 20), just east of Southridge Boulevard near the town of Sutter.
A preliminary investigation revealed Jasbir Singh Basra, 59, of Yuba City was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup westbound on Highway 20 when he crossed into oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass traffic.

The pickup burst into flames immediately after the crash.
Tragically, a woman in the jeep, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jasbir Basra was transported to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville for treatment of minor injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
