Juan Juarez Died in Tragic Collision on 101 Freeway
STUDIO CITY, CALIFORNIA (December 12, 2016) – Frederick Flores was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter after a fatal two-car accident on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Studio City on Monday morning, reported Daily News.
The victim of the collision has been identified as 39-year-old Juan Juarez.
The crash occurred at about 5:15 a.m. on Highway 101 West at Laurel Canyon Boulevard. (map)
Based upon the preliminary investigation, a 2009 BMW, driven by 53-year-old Frederick Flores, of Canoga Park, was stopped for an unknown reason in the No. 2 lane of the 101 freeway.
A 2005 Toyota, driven by Juan Juarez, was northbound in the No. 2 lane and crashed into the BMW.
Sadly, Juan Juarez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Frederick Flores was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and is being held on $100,000 bail.
Flores sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated at a hospital before being released into the custody of officers.
