“Deadly Head-On Collision”
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (February 7, 2017) – A man and woman died in a vehicle collision on Highway 4 west of south Whiskey Slough Road on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:43 p.m. when the 24 year old driver of a 2006 silver Chevrolet attempted to pass slower traffic, crossed into oncoming traffic, and colliding head-on into a black 1991 Honda.
The 48 year old male driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The 38 year old woman passenger Honda sustained major injuries. The passenger of the Honda was transported to a local hospital where is later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to a hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing to determine if alcohol and/or drugs were the cause of the accident.
