STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (February 16, 2017) – A male pedestrian was killed on Thursday evening after he was struck by a big rig on Interstate 5, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:55 p.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 5 near March Lane. A man reportedly ran into the traffic lanes in front of a 2013 Peterbilt truck, which was unable to stop in time and struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian, identified only as a 57-year-old man from Patterson, was tragically killed in the accident.

The truck driver was not injured in the accident. The investigation is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
