STOCKTON, CA — A bicyclist was critically injured late Wednesday afternoon after being injured in a hit-and-run accident near Lincoln Street and Sonora Street. (map)

The accident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. according to the police report. The bicyclist suffered from a fractured skull as well as bleeding on the brain. According to the police report, the car the hit the cyclist is being described a light colored Hyundai sedan that was driven by  a man with tattoos that were on his face. The man drove south on Lincoln Street after he struck the cyclist.

Anyone with any information is being asked to call the Police Department at (209) 937-8377. The investigation of the accident is ongoing.
