STEVINSON, CALIFORNIA (January 27, 2017) – A school bus was involved in a fatal head on collision on Highway 165 on Friday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)

The accident happened around 5:58 am on northbound Highway 165 near the Great Valley Grasslands Shopping Plaza. A GMC Safari minivan reportedly collided head on with a school bus in the area for unknown reasons.

One person from the minivan was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel, and the driver of the bus also sustained injuries. There were no students on board the bus at the time of the accident. The collision remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
