The accident happened off of Eastern Street. A gold 2004 Chevrolet Impala was heading southbound on Eastern Street in the 500 block when his vehicle was struck by a westbound BNSF train that hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Steven Sorrells was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. Initial investigations indicate the crossing did have gate arms, but it is unknown if they were working at the time of the accident. Information is still being released at this time and Lexton Law will continue to update this article.
