STANTON, CALIFORNIA (January 18, 2017) – According to the Garden Grove Police Department, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Wednesday morning near Chapman Avenue and Beach Boulevard. (map)
Orange County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant John Roche reported that a car crashed into the male cyclist around 2:40 a.m. The driver of the car fled the scene of the accident before authorities arrived. GGPD stopped a vehicle that matched the description of the car that hit the bicyclist around 3:15 a.m. The driver was detained and interrogated.
Lieutenant Roche states that the cyclist was transported to UCI Medical Center with fatal injuries.
