The accident happened around 1:31 am at the intersection of Highway 94 and Kenwood Drive. A pedestrian who remains unidentified, was struck by an unknown vehicle.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead as a result of their injuries before they could be rushed to a hospital. The accident remains under investigation, but initial reports do not indicate the driver that struck the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
