SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (March 2, 2017) – A pregnant woman’s sedan was struck by a piece of wood that flew off a semi truck on Thursday on Interstate 110 near Torrance Boulevard, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)

The accident happened around 10:40 a.m. on the northbound side of the 110 Freeway near Torrance Boulevard. A semi truck loaded with wood struck a bridge near 228th or 223rd Street, causing pieces of wood to fly off the truck. A piece of the wood flew into and shattered the windshield of a grey Nissan Sentra driven by a pregnant woman.

It is unknown if the woman suffered any injuries, but she did state that her vehicle was full of glass from the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability at this time.

“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a car accident and personal injury law firm.
