SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a car on Central Avenue on Monday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:00 pm. A bicyclist described only as a male was crossing Central Avenue near 33rd Street on a bicycle when he was struck by a dark colored car traveling at a high rate of speed. The impact threw the bicyclist up into the air and then into a parked car.

The cyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he tragically was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing as authorities attempt to locate the driver that struck the bicyclist.
