SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (December 26, 2016) – A bicyclist was left with critical injuries on Monday afternoon in the neighborhood of Hyde Park after being hit by a car, according to a local news source. (map)
A 35 year old man was riding a motorized bicycle on 48th Street near Ninth Avenue, when he was struck by a vehicle pulling away from the curb around 3:40 pm. The vehicle immediately fled the scene and did not stop to render aid.
The bicyclist was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Authorities are searching for the vehicle that struck him, and it has been described as a red or burgundy 1997-1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4 door sedan. Anyone with information should call the LAPD.
