SOUTH EL MONTE, CALIFORNIA (July 20, 2017) – A woman was involved in a collision with a big-rig on the 60 Freeway at Santa Anita Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The accident occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m.on the westbound side of the 60 Freeway between big-rig and BMW sedan, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Rubio.

The woman motorist was pronounced dead at the scene. A Sig-Alert was issued as the investigation continued. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. No other details of the fatal collision were available.
