SHINGLETOWN, CALIFORNIA (January 11, 2017) – Two people were injured in a head on collision on Wednesday afternoon on Highway 44, according to a local news source. (map)
The incident occurred around 2:58 pm on Highway 44 near Dersch Road in Shingletown. 55 year old Curtis W. Holtan was heading west on Highway 44 in his 1990 Honda Accord. 60 year old Shirley A. Bosteder was heading east on Highway 44 in a 1997 Toyota Corolla at the same time. Curtis Holtan reportedly lost control of his Honda and veered into the eastbound lanes, colliding head on with Shirley Bosteder’s vehicle.
Shirley Bosteder reportedly suffered major injuries, and Curtis Holtan sustained minor injuries. Both parties were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding to be treated for their injuries. The investigation is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
