SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 19, 2017) – 27-year-old Shane Comet was identified as the man killed on Interstate 5, near Interstate 8 on Sunday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident occurred on the southbound side of Interstate 5. Shane Comet’s body was found in the traffic lanes of Interstate 5 and was subsequently struck by several vehicles. Responding emergency medical professionals tragically confirmed Comet dead at the scene.

It is unknown whether Comet was struck by a vehicle prior to the ones that reported running him over on the Interstate. The investigation into this tragic accident is ongoing.
